Laura is a Barrister and Solicitor practicing at De Sa & Associates P.C. She was called to the bar in 2018.
Laura has been a member of the firm since 2017. Laura graduated Summa Cum Laud from York University in 2014, where she obtained a Bachelor of Honours degree in Criminology, with a minor in Anthropology.
In 2017, Laura obtained her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School. While attending law school, Laura was involved in numerous volunteer and extra-curricular activities. She was a member of the Dean’s Scribe Program, an initiative at Osgoode that facilitated note-taking for disabled students. She also volunteered as a student mentor, providing guidance and assistance to incoming students in order to help them acclimate to life at law school.
During her time in law school, Laura also spent a year volunteering with the Pro Bono Family Law Project, a non-for-profit organization that provides assistance to individuals who are unable to afford legal representation, but whose income removes them from qualifying for legal aid. In her role, Laura worked out of the Superior Court in Newmarket, interviewing clients and assisting them with drafting their various court documents including, but not limited to, child support documents, child custody orders, and restraining orders.
In her third year of law school, Laura participated in the Osgoode International Exchange Program and spent a semester studying law in Glasgow, Scotland. This program provided Laura with the opportunity to study broader international law and learn how law operates across trans-national borders.
Laura initially began working with De Sa & Associates as an articling student. As an articling student, Laura received a holistic introduction into the domain of motor vehicle negligence, Statutory Accident Benefit Claims, real estate, and wills and estates.
Laura continued working with De Sa & Associates as a Barrister and Solicitor following her call to the bar in June 2018.
When she is not working, Laura enjoys spending time with her friends and family, reading, trying new restaurants, kickboxing, playing softball, and participating in various adventurous indoor and outdoor activities.
